Ice cover on Great Lakes at near record low

The warm January has kept ice from growing on the Great Lakes. The charts show each lake is near the record lowest ice amount for mid-January.
NOAA’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) keeps track of the ice cover percentage each day and has built a database of average ice cover, record high ice cover and record low ice cover.
