Sturgeon, once nearly wiped from Genesee River, 'thriving' again

Rochester, N.Y. — Lake Ontario is rich with fish after an effort Wednesday to save a native species.
One thousand fingerling lake sturgeon were released into the Genesee River in Charlotte. It's part of a statewide recovery effort for the species, which is listed as "threatened" in New York.
